Itinerary

  • Depart Nairobi in the morning and drive to Sirimon Gate (2,650m).
  • Begin your trek through montane forest to Old Moses Camp, spotting wildlife like colobus monkeys and bushbucks along the way.
  • Trek: ~9km (3-4 hours)
  • Overnight: Old Moses Camp
  • Meals: Lunch, Dinner

  • Hike across scenic moorland, enjoying views of giant heather, lobelias, and rocky outcrops.
  • Pass the Liki and Mackinder valleys on your way to Shipton’s Camp, located at the foot of the towering peaks.
  • Trek: ~14km (6-7 hours)
  • Overnight: Shipton’s Camp
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

  • A rest and acclimatization day at high altitude to prepare for the summit push.
  • Optional short hikes to nearby ridges or lakes with spectacular photo ops of Batian and Nelion peaks.
  • Enjoy a relaxed day with breathtaking scenery and an early night.
  • Overnight: Shipton’s Camp
  • Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

  • Start your trek at 3:00 AM to reach Point Lenana for sunrise – the third-highest peak of Mount Kenya.
  • Soak in the unforgettable panoramic views from the top.
  • Descend back to Shipton’s Camp for breakfast, then continue down to Old Moses Camp.
  • Trek: ~18km (10-12 hours total)
  • Overnight: Old Moses Camp

  • Final descent through the forest back to Sirimon Gate.
  • Transfer back to Nairobi, with an optional lunch stop in Nanyuki.
